Let's press pause

Positive Push #6

Finding the time to press pause in our lives is not easy.

On a TV remote control, it's very easy and it takes a second.

To do it in real life is another story.

Because we often find ourselves in the busyness of life.

And forget to check in with ourselves.

It's good to be doers and achieve things.

But what if you're running in a direction that's opposite to where you want to go?

The speed does not really matter in life, but the intention of what we do matters.

Being on auto-pilot mode, without really knowing where we're headed is not ideal.

That's why I see a lot of people, myself included, take some necessary time off towards the end of the year to check in with ourselves.

To reflect on the past year.

And set some good intentions for the year to come.

Excited to start this new chapter.

But how do we turn these intentions & goals into our new reality?

Actually, the chance to start with a blank page is happening every single morning.

Not just the beginning of the year.

Because every morning, there's a chance for you to show up for yourself.

To become the future you, YOU have envisioned.

To achieve your goals and dreams.

To live the life YOU want.

From checking in once a year to every quarter

Recently, I purchased 'The Reset Workbook' by Justin Shiels.

In this book, Justin shares the idea of doing a self-check-in every quarter.

Like a personal review of our life, to take some time:

To pause.

To reflect.

Asking questions like

"One thing I learned about myself over the past three months" or

"I'm happy because this happened...".

The Reset Workbook by Justin Shiels

I took the time to do it last weekend, and it felt so good. To realise how much has happened, reflect, write some lessons learned and do a temperature check. 🌡

The following week was different in a good way, clearer and more aligned with my goals.

I have now set a reminder in my calendar to do this self-check every 3 months.

Pausing and reflecting, together 🙌

Doing this self-check-in on our own can be hard.

Finding the motivation and time can sometimes be challenging.

That’s why I would love to open an online space to support each other.

Something small, but powerful to keep us on track.

To make sure that we keep doing and going in the direction that feels right to us.

If you’re interested let me know via DM (or in the comments) and I will share the details with you. 🤗

Keep pushing 💪

Since you made it this far, here's a picture of Kaly reminding us not to take life too seriously. 🤪
